Zeal supports and empowers young people by providing safe, inclusive community youth spaces for them to connect and belong, creative skills development programmes helping them build confidence and capability and encourages young people to take up opportunities to contribute back to their communities through youth-led projects, advocacy and positive events.
The story of Zeal was ignited in Wellington in1998 in response to the murder of Wellington teen, Jeff Whittington, in an anti-gay hate crime. 25 years later, Zeal now operates 5 safe, inclusive community youth spaces across Aotearoa, one of those youth spaces in the heart of Henderson, West Auckland.
Zeal’s vision is all young people in Aotearoa living full lives of meaning and purpose – embracing the fullness of their identity, connected to healthy communities and deep relationships.
